The purpose of a mood board is very important it allows the designer to communicate to the client and give them a better understanding of what the designer pitching to the client. But as for other things the reason why we use mood board well for one thing and its not to be confused with a mood ring or a mood swing haha get it cheesy to soon… okay… but its a way to collect different creative information in order to prepare for a new project.
It is a point between initial thoughts or meetings and the first draft of your project. It can be well known as a type of poster that contains text, images and samples of objects that can be used in of choice. So say your pitching an idea for animals having new adoptive home for them like dogs, cats, goldfish, birds and other house pets. And your branding it on an app and a website to lay it out on as well doing merchandise to support it if your trying get traffic towards it since this idea is a non profit depending on what the client wants. Your goal is to give the client what there trying to seek but guide them at the same time its like what my instructor tells me “its a delicate dance that you have off on”. which means it can go south very easily if not done the right at all so i would be very careful with that when dealing with it. But it helps better understanding and can save you both time and money. Which i very good that way your not wasting time over unnecessary things that you don’t want yet alone need in mood board project. But be sure and be clear on what you’re trying to achieve.
Mood boards fall into several broad categories. First one its yourself. Mood boards don’t have make use of outside inspiration. Match brand qualities to content next is do more than one and go and find good sources. Don’t ever limit yourself be organized as well cover all your bases and most of all apply your ideas.
As far as the mood board goes there is other thing like the texture style and font style come into play as well not to mention the logo ideas as well. For those that are not aware of typography it is a type of collection letters while each letter is unique. certain shapes are shared across letters it an art of technique. Logo’s are what the brand or style it is representing for. Everyone needs a logo if there trying to make a business out of what there doing and how they proceed with it. But in conclusion to all of this a mood board can be very helpful to anyone who is trying to work ready on a project and give a good ideas on what there trying to achieve yet alone fulfill from looking at there collage and more.
